Herbert Marshall and Jean Arthur are the prominent players, and together they are as delightful a combination as* svn'id be desired. Marshall takes the of a disgruntled millionaire, engaged to a girl who bores him, and troubled by the directors of his motorcar business. Miss Arthur is cast in entirely different wise. She introduces hereof to him when sitting on a park bench with her goods and chattels packed in a small bag by her side. With remarkable cheerfulness. considering her poor situation, she suggests that they seek for work together. Tickled at the thought of his seeking work, he agree* with alacrity, and thus is taken into a series of misunderstandings and highly amusing situations which appeal to tho audience rather than to 4 ‘The Fighting Code.’’ That popular action star, Buck Jones, chines to the Majestic Theatre to-mor-row in rhe latest of his C olumbia outdoor, action pictures. 4 ‘The Fighting Code.” in wh : ch he in supported by a new leading lady, Diane Sinclair. Buck is seen as a young stranger in the little western town of Whitewater where public hatred is directed against the name of Helen James, played by Miss fiinc’air, because all facts point to her father ’a theft of hank funds before his subsequent suicide. Posing as the long nursing brother of Helen, Buck gradually solves the mystery of the dyith of the girl’s father. In working towards the solution he ,is pitted against a gang of men actively working Co seize the James property, and it is only after numerous gun battles and thrilling escapes that Buck succeeds in capturing the real thieves and proving the innocence of Helen’s father. Robert Allen and Florence Rice are the principal players in “Guard That Girl,” the second picture. A murder mystery of distinct originality, the film traces the gradual detection of a murderer who is out of the common run of criminals. Barbara Kent and Bert Roach are included in the supporting •Mt.
