Alajor and Airs. AlcDonald, of India, are visitors to the city, and are guests at Foster’s Hotel. Mr. and Airs. D. T. Thomas and Airs. Alidwood are English visitors to Wanganui. tThey are guests at Foster’s Hotel. Air., Airs, and Alisa Spurway and .Miss AI. Regan, and Air. and Airs. 11. Clayton, are New South Wales visitors to Wanganui. They arc staying at Foster's Hotel. Air. and Mrs. J. Shafner and Air. and Mis. I’. Lawrence, of UKiveland, Ohio, and Air. K. Williams, of New York, are visiting the city, They are guests at Foster’s Hotel. At. a full meeting of the Wanganui Garrison Barn! last, night, Air. R, A. Francis, L.R.8.M., was unanimously appointed permanent conductor. He was given the baton of the band just prior to the New Zealand contest at New Plymouth, the appointment then being of a temporary nature. In the short time at his disposal he made an efficient task, of training the band, and in recognition of his anility the band appointed him to the post permanently. Air E. C. Gamble, senior supervisor of the postal branch, Wanganui, has received notice of his transfer as supervisor of the mail staff at Welling- ! ton. Air Gamble, who has been two j years in Wanganui, came here from J Wellington, where he was senior mail i agent on the New Zealand-'FriAro run on the Makura, and was also publicity agent. During his sojourn in Wanganui Mr Gamble has enjoyed a maiked degree of popularity with the staff and general public and was also prominent in musical circles and took a keen interest in the Wanganui Competitions Society.
