POPUIJ\R COMEDIAN Received March 15. 7.50 pm. SYDNEY, March 15. j Australian theatregoers are grieved j to learn of the. untimely death of a most popular comedian, Gms Bluett, in his eailv thirties. Re became ill yesterday as a. result of a haemorrhage and wa? hurried 1b ihe Sydney Hospital, where his death occurred in the evening. Gus had just completed an engagement in Melbourne with Williamson’s “Yes, Madame.” He resided with his mother and sister ar Double Bjiv. Gus began his stage career with his father, Fred Bluett, and received hi? first J. U. Williamson’s appointment in 1918 in “Hullo Everybody.” Mr E. J. Tait, managing-director of i Williamson’s, paying a tr-hute to Gus. said: “I have been touring the world since 1916 and have never seen his equal. He will be an irreparable loss.'’
