Primary School Sports. Children in the Wanganui primary district are looking forward to the annual sports which are to take place nn Cook’s Gardens next Friday week. A record entry is expected and one of the features of the day will be folk dancing under the direction of Miss Dickson. The gathering is an all-day affair, and school competes against school. At present the AVangarui Education Board’s banner is held by Upokongaro. that school having won it two years in succession. The runnersup last year, and holders of the Cosmopolitan Club banner, were Gonvillc. Upokongaro won the Doull Cun for the champion school. Niuurally, theie will be keen competition this year to see the trophies change hands. Tt is recognised by the education authorities the world over that sport plays an import ant part in the moulding of youftg lives, and this annual meeting of primary pupils give* expression tn ideal? which lie behind the fostering of gned, clean sport within the school planground.
