SUCCESS IN FRANCA [ Per Press Association. 7 AUCKLAND, Jan. 1!!. Advice that he has been awarded th® Honourable Mention Diploma of the Society des Artistes Francais for his picture “Thoughts nf a Tohunga,” which was exhibited at. the Salon last year, has been received by the Auckland artist, Mr C. F. Goldie. This honour makes Mr Goldie eligible to qualify for the three medala of the Salon, leading to one of the highest awards obtainable by artists. Mr Goldie is sending two pictures to the Salon this year,
