New Monoplane
GEODETIC PRINCIPLES MAY REVOLUTIONISE WAR [By Telegraph—Press —Copyright) LONDON, Jan. 14. The Sun-Herald Service says that experts believe that aerial warfare may be revolutionised by a monoplane based on geodetic construction, invented by Mr. B. N. Wallis, designer of the dirigible RlOO. The Express says that the machine is constructed with wafer-thin spars and tubes and could be bullet-riddled without collapsing. The Air Ministry has placed a large order with Vickers. The Morning Post’s aviation writer says that geodetic construction will permit of sensational increases in speed, range, and load.
