Winsett (Marton Junction) has been appointed first assistant at the Taihape District High School in place of Mr S. J. McDonnell, who has been transferred to the Te Am School, Wellington. Mr Winsett arrived in Taihape this week. Miss F. L. Cate (Opunake) has replaced Miss D. Sexton on the staff of the Taihape D.H. School and takes up her new duties when the school reopens on February 3. Miss Cate is a specialist in music. CRICKET NOTES A. “scratch” game between Possibles and Probables was played on the Oval Domain on Saturday. The Possibles made 197 and won by 120 runs. Hc-dder, their captain, knocked up 107 before retiring. Darvill contributed 47 (retired). Probables were all out for 71 (Caird 16, Williams 13. Creighton 11).
