GENERAL NEWS. Local rifle men are in fairly good form and visi t »rs are expected from all parts of the district. Several local cricketers have be-m playing in the Palmerston North Wednesday competition this season, bur an effort is being made to form a local side for week end games. The Factory eleven is also being resuscitated, and with Flock House, Bulls, Factory and Stevenson’s sides in the field, interesting games may be looked forward to. Work i'ii the Greatford Bulls Road has been held up this week through wot weather. The highway is in a very rough condition at present, and motorists and others will be pleased when it is tar sealed. The tracks on the local racecourse arc in excellent order, the course proper and lawns having been mown just before the rain came. The plough gallon, on which most of the fast work is being done, is also in fine trim. Ono locally-trained horse, Diatomous, will race at Trenthain next week, and he should give a good account of himself if th? tracks down there are firm.
