“PAGAN AND FOOLISH”
CONFETTI AT WEDDINGS. An attack on the use of confetti at weddings, which he describes as a “pagan and folish custom,” is made by the new vicar of Shotton, Flintshire, the Rev. A. E. Evans, states the Observer. He says: “The throwing of confetti desecrates the sanctuary. It appears strange that people who come to God’s house to seek His blessing on their union should desecrate His sanctuary with the pagan and foolish custom of throwing confetti. “May we hope that never again will anyone in this parish transgress the canons of good manners by bringing into God’s drawing room foolish bits of pnlnwrofl pap Pr.-”
