WHEN UNPACKING

AFTER THE HOLIDAY It is wise to overhaul your wardrobe when unpacking after a holiday, for the clothes may be needed in a hurried moment and if not overhauled may be found to be “wanting.” It is surprising where spots of grease, small holes and tears in seams and hems come from. i’etfol or turpentine will remove slight grease' spots from cloths, while a few drops of eucalyptus rubbed gently in silks and georgettes will take away any grease spots. Petrol will also take away stains on white and brown shoes and make them like new before giving them a good polish with a good shoe cream. Hair brushes will need a thorough washing. Add a few drops of ammonia to the soapy water to take away the etickiiiess, acquired by the sea air and water to the scalp. Last of all conies the suit case itself. Before putting it away—wherever it is stored for another holiday—give it a clean with either a good shoe cream or furniture polish and press out with an iron any dents which, it may have gained. Finally put a r-pot of oil on the hinges and in the keyholes so that they will not rust before it is brought out for use again. Trunk keys are things that are always getting lost. It is advisable to put string or ribbon around them to make them coiiepicious and put them into the trunk itself so that there will be no diffculty in finding them when next they are needed.
