GOLF COURSE ON LINER
The sports deck of the Cunard-White Star liner tfucen Mary will be the longest sports arena in any ship. While space for the usual deck games will be available, facilities are being provided for children. In addition to an exercise ground for dogs, special space is to be allocated for -golf. For passengers who- prefer walking, a ‘ ‘morning parade ground’' has been provided on the promenade deck. The “walk,” which will extend to 1075 ft., will take passengers through the ship’s street, past the church, and through a palm grove, into the cocktail bar, which is laid out in circular formation. On the other side of the “walk” verandahs looking out to sea will be a feature. To enable the officer in the charthouse to obtain an optical view of the ocean floor, apparatus which will send a beam from below the ship’s water mark is to be installed. The beam will be reflected to the charthouse, giving the depth of water under the liner.
