SCHOONER HERMES
SEARCH PROVES FRUITLESS. SYDNEY, (Dec. 3. Not a trace has been found of the schooner Hermes. The Administrator of New Quinea fears the worst, as a search by three vessels has proved fruitless. A cable message from Sydney o# November 26 read: A message from Rabaul says that anxiety is felt for the safety of the Administration’s schooner Hermes, which is considerably overdue from Madang with three whites and 17 natives on board. Vessels have left in search.
