MATCH AT BRISBANE RECORD TOTAL PASSED QUEENSLANDERS’ FAILURE. Received Dee. 2, 11.50 p.m. BRISBANE, Dec.. 2. In the M.C.C. match Langridge and Lyttelton soon settled down to steady scoring, the latter impressing with leg and cover shots. The partnership was worth 69 and then both went quickly, but Griffiths and Sims troubled the bowlers, taking the total past the re- • cord innings against Queensland and beating Arthur Gilligan’s 522 in 1924. The failure of the Queenslanders in the second innings is attributed more to the consistently good bowling than their earlier timidity. Baxter, a good type fast-medium bowler, did exceptionally well. Sims had fine length and was unlucky in bad fielding losing wickets. Levy was aggressive and most entertaining but had three lives before his wicket fell. Scores were as follow: M.C.C. First Innings.
