The M.C.C. batsmen gave 5700 people delightful entertainment with free batting, taking complete command of the Queensland attack and compiling the biggest score of the tour. Tne opening batsmen put on 204, {Smith scoring the side’s first century. Holmes and Human were also seen in a centui ■ partnership. Human’s innings was especially a treat. He displayed correctness and brightness and played beautifully executed shots to all parts of the field. The Queensland captain tried ten bowlers. Sensational incidents followed the breaking of the opening partnership, three other wickets falling in ten minutes for the addition of .15 runs, but Holmes and Human soon had control again.
