STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
MAN KILLED INSTANTLY. A farm worker, John Patrick Falvey, was struck by lightning and killed instantly about 12 miles from Gloucester, New South Wales, recently. He was walking back to his camp in the scrub with a companion after finishing fencing work, when a terrific storm occurred. It became almost black overhead. Peals of thunder were interspersed with flashes of lightning. There was very little rain, but hail fell heavily. Then there was a vivid flash, and lightning struck Falvey, who dropped dead. His companion was also struck, but he recovered sufficiently to walk to the nearest house, where he obtained
