LINER QUEEN MARY
■ LIGHTING THE BOILERS. HORSEPOWER OF ENGINES NOT REVEALED. Received Nov. 28, 10.30 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 27. The lighting of the 24 boilers cf the Cunard White Star liner Queen Mary, which sails on her maiden voyage on May 27. i? expected to begin next week. When the steam is raised the uncoupled engines will be turned over very quietly for the first time. Then the 25-ton propellers will be coupled up and revolved at a gentle speed. The horsepower of the engines will not be revealed until the trials :n March, but it is understood that it will considerably exceed that of the Normandie, namely 164,000 horsepower.
