BULB SHOW. The “washing-up” meeting in c°n nection with the recent bulb show was held last Tuesday night, when, owing t. the inclemency of the weather, there was only a fair'attendance. Mr. R. J. Morgan, who presided, took the opportunity to present to Mrs. A. McMillan the Aggregate Cup, won by her at. the show. . The secretary made a. brief: rpport, on the show, and presented the judges’ recommendations. The financial statement showed a clear profit of E 7 4s 6d upon the year s workings. Numerous suggestions tor miproxement of the schedule and for disposal of next year’s proceeds were referred to the next annual meeting. A otes ot thanks were accorded the donors, the secretary, and the chair. GENERAL NEWS. Mr. Fair, Democrat candidate for Oroua, addressed a large gathering of electors in the Hall on Friday evening. Mr. D. Couper was in the chair. Mr. Fair’s speech was much on the same lines as that delivered in other places, and thb speaker was accorded a very attentive hearing. A number of questions were asked and answered by the speaker. A vote of thanks, proposed by Mr. J. Watt, and seconded by Mr R. Deroles, was carried with acclamation. Stewards of the various classes of the inside show, of the Horticulture! and Industrial Society, met the conductor of the inside show, Mr. H. G. Fankhauser, on Saturday evening, when the schedule was gone through and several alterations made. A general meeting will be held next Saturday evening, when a full attendance of those interested is desired as several important matters are open for discussion.
