A very pleasing functio.a took place on Saturday afternoon, when several members of the Alangiweka Gc-lf Club met and presented to Air. Len Weston and family a handsome crystal water set. Air. H. N. Waymouth, (captain) , in the absence of the president, made the presentation, thanking Ab - . Weston for his kindness in letting them have the use of his property to play golf. Airs. T. W. Pairman on beaalf of the ladies also thanked Air. Westor.. Air. Weston suitably replied. FEFENCE RIFLE CLUB During the week-end t'he local riflemen commenced thc first trophy series of the season with a match at 300 yards and 600 yards, for the H. .1. Nash Challenge Cup.
