Meny Knight led in the early stages, the first two furlongs taking 2bsec., but they quickened up to complete the task in 1.7 2-5. khveet Music, although she has done little fast work, finished very resolutely, while the Grand Knight gelding displayed distinct promise. Treasure Hunt (Pine), Finnesko (Anderson) and Te Kapua (C. Broughton) were associated in a six furlong gallop, the last-named early dropping to the rear. The other pair went on te run the first three furlongs in 511-5 sec., and the six iu 1.21, there being little between them at the finish.

Gold Cure (A. Ale Donald) worked to the front to load Esteem (B. Brown; in the early stages of a mile gaJL'op, Taumau (I'ijie) dropping to the 1 car. Gold Cure was still iu charge as they turned for home, but in the straight the other pair tackled him, Taumau coming through to beat Esteem narrowly. The mile was run in 1.48 1-5 and the last six furlongs in 1.20 3-5.

Badylino (Anderson) had his brother, Round Up (I’ine), as a partner in a haif-mile flutter, the former travelling very smoothly to run the distance in 52scc. after taking 14sec. for the initial furlong.
