OBITUARY
AIR. G. A. GREEN. WELL-KNOW N HORTICU LT UPI ST. [ Per Piese Association. ] AUCKLAND, Sept. 27. The death of Air. G. A. Green, well known throughout New Zealand as an expert horticulturist, occurred at his home at One Tree Hill. Air. Green was in his 68th year. He was a fellow ot the Royal Horticultural Society. At an early age Air. Green became interested in citrus culture and nursery work, and with his father, some 32 years ago, he helped to form the New Zealand Association of Nurserymen, now known as the New Zealand Horticultural Trades Association. Air. Green was also largely responsible for the or ganisation of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture. He acted as Dominion organiser from its inception, and was also Dominion secretary for a period. He was a regular contributor of articles on horticultural subjects to newspapers and periodicals throughout the world. He acted as citriculturist to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and in that capacity prepared a report on the citrus industry of New Zealand, and also visited Australia and reported on the industry there. He leaves a wife and one daughter and two sons.
