CONTINGENT BEQUEST

CLERGYMAN’S ESTATE I Per Press Association. 1 AUCKLAND, Sept. 26. A very large contingent bequest, consisting of the whole of testators New Zealand estate valued conservatively at over £22,000, has been made to the Auckland Diocesan Girls’ High School by the late Ven. R. IL Cole, formerly Archdeacon of laranaki, who died in Auckland in September, .1934. The bequest, is subject to the life interest of the archdeacon's daughters, and to another contingency the possibilities in regard to which cannot be ascertained for some considerable time. If this contingency does not materialise, lhe school will ultimately receive a very valuable addition to its resources. Archdeacon Cole made no stipulations as to lhe use that mr.y be imply of the bequest, but expressed the wish that the school council should apply a sum annually whenever practicable towards the maintenance and education of daughters of poor clergy actively engaged in the dioceses of Auckland amt Waikato.
