LOAN FOR HOUSING. I Per Press Association. J AUCKLAND, Aug. 30. A decision Io raise a £200,000 loan lor. housing was made last night by the City Council. It proposed that, if the loan is sanctioned to erect 125 flats and 125 semi-detached houses on sites which have not yet been disclosed. The City Engineer, in a comprehensive report, recommended the selection of sites suitable for cottages estates, and submitted details of proposed areas, with lhe estimated costs per house, varying from £747 to £837. The council has now endorsed loan schemes totalling £694,000, including £232,000 for streets, £61),000 for drainage, £50,000 for waterworks, ami £50,000 for a. munieipal block.
