The Japanese Goodwill Mission ar rived at Timaru from the south to-day, and n.embers were the guests at :i luncheon given by the Chamber of Commerce. A welcome was i xtended by the. president, Mr. G. Andrews supported by Sir Alexander Yeung. Air. Debuehi, responding, reiterated the points relevant to relations be tween .Japan a.id New Zealand as em phasised in oilier centres. At. the conclusion of the eremon\ Air. Debuehi planted a Japanese flower ing cherry tree ir. th.* new scenir re serve in memory of '.hr visit, and Fir Alexander Young planted a New Zea land kowhai. Mr. Debuehi was also presented by lhe Mayor with a bound booklet of views of Timaru and {South Canterbury.
