BOAT OVERTURNS
SCHOOLBOY DROWNED [ Per Press Association. 1 WELLINGTON. Any. 30. A schoolboy named McKay was drowned in Evans Bay this morning when a flat-bottomed boat, capsized in a rough sea. Two other schoolboy-, Arthur Morrison, aged 13, and Pauline, were rescued in an exhausted condition. Morrison was taken to hospital and Pauline was taken home. One of the boys was rescued by Mr. Richard Robert Hull, a Poneke Club footballer. After bringing him ashore, Mr. Hull stripped anl entered the water again to rescue McKay, but was unable to find him. Al. the same time three men in a dinghv using bunds as paddles went to McKay’s assist v ce but before reaching him he threw up his hands and disappeared. The bo Iv has not been recovered.
