FOR WANGANUI GUINEAS
MR. J. S. MCLEOD’S CANDIDATE By “Kestrel.’’ The appearance c-f the name of Thane in the list of horses whose Wanganui Guineas engagements were continued after the first forfeit fell due was obviously an error. Thane is a four-ycar-old colt by Chief Ruler out of Tressida. It is the Siegfried—Tressida colt Happy Landing which will carry Mr. J. S. McLeod’s colours in the Guineas, while 11 Duce, the Chief Ruler —Fair Rosamund coll, has been relieved of his engagement but has been nominated in other events. It will be pleasing to see the president of the New ealaud Racing Conference represented in the field for the first classic of the season in the Dominion.
