TEXAS GOES “WET”
DOWNFALL OF PROHIBITION. Received Aug. 26, G. 15 p.m, NEW YORK, Aug. 25. A Dallas, Texas, message states: After 16 years of prohibition, voters of this which in recent years was one of the few remaining dry strongholds, voted to permit the sale of alcoholic drink. Returns from yesterday’s referendum to-day indicated a wet plurality of 50,000 votes. The electorate also adopted by an overwhelming margin the old-age pension law.
