ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
The St. John Ambulance Brigade has again issued some particulars which give a good idea of the amount of public duh which is carried out by members during the sports season. Returns were obtained for a recent Saturday afternoon and the details which have been furnished to headquarters show that on the day in question noma 323 playing grounds were staffed throughout the Dominion, 673 members of ambulance and nursing divisions, With 102 cadets assisting, bcinj; on duty, and 1410 cases of first aid were dealt with. Although the, major •ty of the cases were of a minor nature, some of a more serious kind were dealt with. The above figures show that there has been an advance on the previous year’s activities, the following places having been added to the sphere of the brigade’s operation* during the past 12 months, viz., Devonport, Pukekohe, I’acroa. Te Awnniutu, Otorohanga, Te Kuiti, Waitara, 'l'akaka and Rangiora.
