OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP MCMAHON HEADS PERKIER Received Aug. 25, 7.5 p.ui. ADELAIDE, Aug. 25. The South Australian profcbsionu), F. W. McMahon, wen the open golf championship of Australia from Ferrier by one stroke. McMahon’s 293 lor 72 holes loweis the course reco.rd by three strokes. Bolger’s 69 in the fourth round is also a course record. This is the third time that Ferrier has tilled second place in the Open. The young New South Wales amateur, who is only 20, was leading the field at the end of the third round but started the last round with 5 and (», and took a fatal 7 at the 17th. McMahon, who is 37, gave a superb display throughout the gruelling test. For the 72 holes par is 292.
