SUCCESS AT WELLINGTON [ Per Pre-* Association. | WELLINGTON, Aug. 25. The experience of the opening day of the Wellington Competitions Society’s eighteenth festival indicates that it is likely to be the most successful in the society’s history. Entries total the record number of 3700. The now system of spreading over a number of nights the more interesting sections, makes for exceptionally varied programmes. The festival was officially opened bv Mayor last nighf.
