RECORD SPEED
THE ULSTER GRAND PRIX. STARTLING INCIDENT. Received. Aug 25, 9.5 p.m. BELFAST, Aug. 25. Lap records were continuously broken in the Ulster Grand Prix, the fastest motor-cycle race ever run. While Guthrie was hurtling behind Rusk round a bend at 100 miles an hour the machines skidded. Rusk, suffered serious head injuries but Guthrie astonished the spectators when he remounted his Norton and won at an average speed of 90.98 miles an hour. Handley, also riding a Norton, was second.
