Tne impounding \/f cycles of riders offending against traffic laws is to oe suggested to the Municipal Association by the North Island Motor L'n-ion acd th« co-operation of the association is to be sought in an application to the Transport Board. The union discussed the need for some effective check on the ownership of cycles, a check which did not now exist. A proposal for the registration of cycles was rejected in favour of the impounding scheme, which emanated from Auckland. One delegate pointed out the danger of a policeman being given the power to impound cycles. It an accused cyclist were acquit!e 1 the policeman might get into serious trouble. The next conference is to be held at Carterton.
