POLICE HEADQUARTERS
POSITION IN WANGANUI. The M anganui detective staff is now quartered in the premises in Bell ►Street which wvre c-ncc used as a bach for single men. An increase in the personnel has made this necessary and the fact emphasises more strongly than ever the need for more up-to-date and congenial surroundings for the city’s police staff While t<bc removal of the detectives from their original quarters in the main station building has certainly lessened the congestion in that quarter, there is still need for increase in the station accommodation. The matter is net of such pressing importance, perhaps, as the need for a new Post Office and Court building, but it is ono which should be borne in mind.
