WEDDING
FITCHES—GOILE An evening wedding was celebrated at St. Andrew's Church, Tuiakina, oi August 7, the liev. W. C. Watt officiating. The contracting parties were Annie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. E. Goile, Turakina, and John, eldest son of Mr and Airs J. Fitches, Turakina. The church was tastefully decorated by girl friends of the bride. Miss Knox officiated at the organ. The bride wore a becoming frock of cream panne velvet cut on simple lines with a flared skirt, fashioned to form a train... Her veil was worn off the face and held with a simple head-dress of pearls and orange blossom, She carried a bouquet of camelias, freezias and maidenhair fern. As she entered the church a member of the Women’s Division presented her with a silver horseshoe. The bride was attended by Miss Ethel Day, of 'I urakina, who wore a dainty frock of silk floral voile in shades of pink with a head-dress of pearls and rosebuds to tone. She carried a bouquet of rosebuds in shades of pink. Mr J. Bedawny ably supported the groom. After the ceremony a dainty breaklast was partaken of by some 70 guests and the usual toasts were honoured, after which dancing was enjoyed until the early hours of the morning. The bride’s mother wore a frock of nigger brown marocain relieved with tangerine and hat to tone. Her bouquet was of poppies and daffodils. Airs Fitches, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a golden brown silk erope frock with touches of white, and hat to tone. Spring flowers comprised her bouquet* For going away the bride chose floral marocain in autumn tones on a bronze background, with coat and hat, to tone.
