PAREWANUI INSTITUTE Owing to unfavourable weather there was only a small attendance at the August meeting of the Parewanui Women’s Institute. The president (Mrs. H. T. Marumaru) was in the chair. Airs. Oliver (Oroua Downs) gave two very interesting and instructive demonstrations, the first on wool quilts, and the second on glove making. Both were keenly followed by members. The competition for a bag made from felt hats was won by Mrs. G. Abraham, Mrs. 11. F. Bussell being second. Following afternoon tea Mrs. Marumaru gave an interesting report on her trip to the conference, for which she was accorded a very 'hearty vote of thanks. The competition for next moniih will Ik, a jar of marmalade. WELLINGTON CITY MISSION Rev. I'cilden Taylor, of the Wellington City Mission, arrived here on Thursday, and in the evening delivered addresses to children ami adults in < liltcn lla||. f .l here arc a good num ber of active workers here for this worthy cause, and Rev. Mr. B. Kilis is leaving Bulls to take up a position at Pahiatua. Messi's. M. C. Gould and N. Awn leave to day to take part in t.hp gotf tournament at Rotorua. Miss M. A num is also making tire trip.
