MACHINES FOR THE BLIND. LORD NUFFIELD’S GIFT. [ British Official Wireless. J RUGBY, Aug. 21. A gift of £5OOO by Lord Nuffield has enabled the National Institute for the Blind and St. Dunstans to begin the compilation of a library of “talking books,” which will be recorded for mechanical reproduction. Special machines for the use of the blind are being manufactured. Some 25 titles have been already selected, ranging from the Gospel of St. John to modern thrillers.
