RECENT STRIKE THREAT. BANK RATE RAISED. COPENHAGEN, Aug. 21. '.rhe bank rate has been raised to 3i per cent. This is regarded as a reply to the extremist farmers’ threat of a foreign currency strike. The farmers’ orgauisation urged that sterling cheques and notes be kept in the banks and private safes and all efforts would be made to withhold foreign currency from the national bank.
