STUDENT’S FINE GESTURE. REPAYS FEES REMITTED. [ Per Press Association. ) DUNEDIN, Aug. 21. The University Council received yesterday from a student, Air. W. 8. Carrie, an amount representing a remis sion iu the fees allowed him through losses suffered in the Napier earthquake. ’The writer stated that he had always regarded the remission as a loan.
The registrar stated that he was the first man ro repay, to which the Chancellor replied that it was an unconditional remission and repayment was not expected It was resolved to express the council’s appreciation to Mr. Carrie,
