In Indian schools the provincial curricula are followed, with special emphasis on language, reading, domestic science, manual training and agriculture. For the older pupils half the day is spent in class rooms and the remainder in vocational training. Each residential school has farm lands in connection with it. Indian girls receive instruction in sewing, cooking and other household duties.
