FACTIONS IN NAZI REGIME FAR-REACHING CONSEQUENCES. Received Aug. 21, 1.1,20 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 21. The News-Chronicle’s Berlin correspondent says an open quarrel, which may nave far-reaching consequences on the Hitler regime, has broken out between the Nazi Extremists led by Dr. Goebbels and the Moderates, led by Ur. Schacht, following Dr. Schacht’s speech on August 18, which Dr. Goebbels ordered to be heavily censored before publication, especially the portion in which Dr. Schacht openly attacked the Extremist Nazis whole violent methods, he said, were hindering German’s economic recovery. Dr. Schacht is supported by powerful Conservative industrial leaders, also the Conservative element of the Reichswehr. He intends to place before Herr Hitler the realities of the situation and will also further attempt to persuade Hitler to call off the antiJ ewish campaign. It is reported that he is ready to resign unless he is assured that Germany’s serious economic situation is secured against disturbance by violent outside elements.
