THE SEPTEMBER MEETING NOMIXATIONS TOMORROW. I | In addition to staging the first of • the season’s classic events, the Wanganui Guineas, the Wanganui Jockey Club will, at the forthcoming ►September meeting, provide the juxeniles with their liist chance of aa outing with the colours up. This will .be in the Debutante Stakes, run over four and a quarter furlongs ou the second day of lhe meeting, which is set down for September 12 and 14. Entries for 'the Guineas, of course, were taken last year, but entries lor all other events will close at 9 p.m. to morrow. An attractive programme has been framed and judging by the interest already displayed in the fixture the secretary, Air. S. R. McCallum. will have a generous list of nominations to disclose night. MARTON JOCKEY CLUB THE SPRING MEETING At the Marton Jockey Club’s spring meeting to be held on September 7 the Marton Handicap, the chief event, has a stake of £l2O and is run over a mile and a-quartor. The only other open race is the Railway Handicap, of £9O, six furlongs. The day’s sport opens with the Maiden Race, of £6O, six furlongs, and is for horses that have never won a flat race at time of starting, the weight to be carried being 8.7. The Otairi Plate, reserved for gentlemen riders, is to be decided over nine furlongs Besides the stake of £5O there is a trophy valued £lO The remainder of the programme consists of the Hack Hurdles Handicap of £9O, about one mile and a-half; Tutaenni Hack Handicap of £75, six furlongs; Spring Hack Handicap of £Bl, nine furlongs, and farewell Hack Handicap of £9O, six furlongs.
