CANADIAN MINING INDUSTRY
AIMING AT NEW HIGH RECORD. TORONTO, July 1. At tho half way mark it is believed that Canadian mining industry this year will report production with a value of £60,000,000, a figure that would set an all-time record. Last year’s production had a value of £55,000,000. These facts about Canadian mining have been tabulated: Canada rates first in the world in nickel and platinum; third in gold, silver, copper and zinc, and fourth in lead. Per capita, Canada produces more metals than any other country, and is the largest shipper of base war metals. Value of mineral production in Canada has passed that of field crops. There are now 10S gold mines operating in Canada, and the number increases steadily.
