FOOTBALL. Ruapehu rep. team travelled to Kaitieke on Saturday and met a rep team from the Kaitieke sub-union. A good hard game ensued. Ruapehu was lead ing for most of the game but Kaitieke evened up matters, the final score being 13 points each. Mr. A. 'Lowers refereed. One Kaitieke man had to retire through an mjureJ shoulder. Lust Wednesday afternoon Miss Joyce Urwin was met by the members of the Borough Council and the borough employees and their wives at afternoon tea. Good wishes were expressed for the future happiness of Miss Urwin, who has been in the employ of the council for about eight years and who is getting married this month. As a token of esteem Miss Urwin was presented with a cathedral chiming dock. Mr. N. Mosen has returned from a brief holiday at Hamilton, where he went to recuperate after an operation at the Raelihi hospital. Last Thursday Mr. F. Laug.slone, M.i*. fur Waimarino, and Alessrs.
