NEW STRATOSPHERE ’PLANE FRENCH PILOT KILLED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) PARIS, Aug. 5. France’s only stratosphere aeroplane, on which Farman brothers had been working for three years, crashed near Bonniercs. Pilot Cogno was entrusted to the test ’plane at over 33,000 feet. He flew for 75 minutes when the machine was seen to be diving in flames. It is believed that Cogno, who was burned to death, was overcome and fainted while at a great height.
