WANGANUI MATCHES COMPETITION GAMES OLD BOYS SUFFER DEFEAT close and exciting games weie iaiessed at Gonville Park cu Saturday when the Wanganui Hockey Association’s competitions were continued under ideal weather conditions. Wesley met Y.M.U.A. and after a stern tussle were the winners by two goals to one. Old Boys, the leaders in the senior A competition, suffered then first defeat ol the season after a very fast game with Hinenioa. The latter team emerged from the struggle with three goals to their credit, as against Old Boys’ two. The narrow margin is a good indication of the play. So far as the men’s B section was concerned, there were no games played on Saturday.
