SINGLE GIRLS POSITION. DEPUTATION TO MINISTER. ( Par Pre»« Association ). CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. A deputation representing the UH* i employed waited on the Minister of Employment (Hon. S. G. Smith) this morning, urging an increase of ten i shillings weekly in the relief pay and the placing of unemployed girls on the same basis a single unemployed men , with regard to wages. During the speeches, one member of the deputation, Mrs. Penny, said that single girls in every city in New Zealand were not, getting a fair deal. Many were being driven on to the streets.
