I A former diplomat, Mr. Maurice i Paleologue, reveals in the Revue des Deux Mondes that King George clearly warned Germany in February, 1913, that Britain would aid Frame in the event of a Franco-German war. Prince Henry of Prussia, the Kaiser’s brother, early in 1913 discussed with His Majesty during a visit to Windsor the possibility of an Austro-Russiau war and armed intervention by France and Germany. He asked whether Britain would participate, and His Majesty replied: “Yes, certainly, in certain circumstances. ’ ’ • Prince Henry was astonished, and declared that the possibility of an Anglo-German war was unthinkable. His Majesty replied: “We are bound in honour to remain faithful to our | friends. ”
