N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. DISPLAYS AT AUCKLAND. ( Per 1 AUCKLAND, Mrch 18. The New Zealand croquet championship tournament concluded with the semi-finals and the final of the ladies’ handicap doubles. The greens were very heavy. The N.Z. ladies’ championship, which carries with it the Championship Challenge Cup and gold medal, was won by Miss R. Skeet of Remuera Club, Auckland, who defeated Mrs. Corbet, Dunedin, in the final. It marked the first success of an Auckland player for 10 years, the last winner being Miss Hcsketh, also a member of the Remuera Club. The final of the handicap doubles resulted in a win for Mesdames J. Clarke and W. Watson (Auckland), who defeated Mesdames Caldow (Wellington) and Cross (Auckland). Results arc:— N.Z. Ladies’ Singles Championship Semi- Final: Mrs. Corbet beat Mrs. Caldow 26—14. Final: Miss Skeet beat Mrs. Corbet 26—11, 26—25. Handicap Doubles. Mesdames J. Clarke and W. Watson beat Mesdames Caldow and Cross, 26—.13.
