•TEN MINUTE ALIBI." AND “THE WIND AND THE BAIN.” Quite a large amount of interest is being taken in the first and only pro duction here by the J. C. Williamson, Ltd., new Loudon Dramatic Company of England’s outstanding dramatic success, “Ten Minute Alibi,” which is to be presented at the Opera House on Saturday night next, and the only presentation here on Monday evening of Merton Hodge's great comedy triumph, ‘The Wind and the Kain,’ is likely to attract a record audience. “There has been much discussion among those who have seen the production of ‘Ten Minute Alibi’ as to how Colin Derwent is able to evade the law by means of putting back the clock ten minutes,” wrote a Melbourne critic. “The play has novelty as well as thrills and comedy, and the whole makes an attractive blend of play and performance, of action and suspense.” “The Wind and the Rain.” Dr. Merton Hodge, the author of the London comedy triumph, “The Wind and the Rain,” which is to be staged here on Monday night next by the brilliant J. C. Williamson, Ltd., ‘‘Ten Minute Alibi” company, is an old King’s College boy, and afterwards he studied medicine at the Dunedin University. Not since the late Dio. Boucicault presented a scries of comedies in Australia has a play proved so successful as “The Wind and th.. Rain” did in Melbourne and Sydney. So remarkably successful did it prove that its ason in each of these cities had to be considerably extended. The box plans for “Ten Minute Alibi” and “The Wind and the Rain.” will be opened at the D.I.C. on Thursday morning next.
