HOSING PROHIBITED
CITY WATER SUPPLY LOW ABNORMAL DRAW OFF. The Westmere reservoir showed a marked fall on Saturday and the Okehu supply, at full bore, was brought in to supplement the volume being pumped from Kai Iwi, but it was noticed yesterday that the draw-off was still well above what it has been during the past few weeks. In the sudden emergency created th*City Council has decided to prohibit the watering of gardens until further notice. Strict care will be taken to see that this instruction is auforce I. If the dry wea-ther continues the situation may become more acute, and it is hoped that the public will co operate with the authorities to ensure a safe supply for the more important needs of health and prevention ct lire.
