Meteorological Office, Wellington, Sunday, Feb. 3, 4 p.m. General Situation. —An intense anti-cyclone is still centred near i lie Chatham Islands, while a rather deep cyclone is located over the south west Tasman Sea. Forecast. —Winds: North-east to northerly, and moderate to strong. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough about Cook Strait and rising north of East Capo and south of Cape Egrnont, elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong north-east to northerly winds, and rather rough seas. Weather: Still for the most part fair to fine and warm, but clouding over in western and far northern districts, with scattered rain developing. The New Zealand Friends’ School, St. John's Hill, report for 94 hours ending 6 p.m. yesterday: Bright sunshine, 4 hours 20 minutes. Rainfall, nil. Shade temperature: Maximum, 78 deg.
